The idea for began with Christine Gable, a creative, compassionate lady with wonderful ideas she has implemented over the years to improve the lives of her family and friends. She has been in the cosmetic, hair styling business for 40 years and has a following unmatched in Oregon.

Chris has worked for many years with clients with Alopecia Areata, Trichotilomania and Cancer patients undergoing various medical treatments including Chemotherapy styling their wigs and hairpieces and listening with compassion to their despair of not having eyelashes. They felt their femininity was gone and they were less desirable to their partners. A general loss of self-confidence and self-esteem seemed to be the overall feeling. Anyone that doesn't fit into the generally accepted description of 'normal' can appreciate their dilemma.

At the salon, Chris also offers the relatively new "semi-permanent" eyelash process worn by so many celebrities today. This is a service for women that have short or fine eyelashes.

Chris will carefully attach a single eyelash to each one of her clients lashes to create length and thickness. This process takes approximately one to two hours and requires a maintenance visit every two weeks. It is a luxury service and the cost can run anywhere from $250-300 for the initial visit. Definitely for the woman who likes to spoil herself. A consultation is recommended for this service prior to booking. Most of us cannot afford this type of service and that's where Blinkies comes in. After exploring various ways to help her clients without natural lashes use false eyelashes that would stay on bare eyelids, she had an idea for a new product and the research began. Chris knew this would be a remarkable product for her clients and so many others experiencing the problem of not having natural lashes.

Beverly Kjellberg has been one of Chris' clients for several years and they had become good friends. One day, Chris confided in Bev her idea and they discussed the possibilities of a partnership over dinner. They eventually joined forces and together have created a sensational new product!

During their research, they found there was nothing available in the marketplace to help except the old-fashioned fake/false string eyelashes which either fell down over the eyes or fell off the eyelid completely because there was no underlying lashes to act as a base to support them.

After much research and with Bev's business background and entrepreneurial spirit, they began to make their dream of helping others
a reality and . . . . was born!
